SULPHUR
DETECTIVES MAKE ARRESTS IN STRING OF THEFTS
On Wednesday,
June 4, 2008 investigators of the Sulphur Police
Detective Division made arrest in multiple
thefts of copper air conditioning coils.
From January of
this year numerous thefts had occurred in the
Sulphur area including Carlyss, McMurry and
Patterson Ball Parks. The suspects would take
the air condition copper coils from building air
conditioning units and sell them at a Lake
Charles area recycling center.
According to
Sulphur Police Chief Chris Abrahams, Detectives
arrested two suspects connected with these
thefts.

Norman
Stark, (pictured left) White Male, Age 26
and
Marshel
Ellis (right), White Male, Age 23 both of
Sulphur. Stark was charged with two counts of
felony theft and Ellis was charged with one
count of felony theft. Other charges are
possible pending with the Calcasieu Parish
Sheriffs Office.
Detectives
in another case arrested Michael Menzel Jr.,
White Male, Age 28 of Sulphur on two counts of
simple burglary of an inhabited dwelling.
Menzel was booked into the Sulphur City Jail on
the charges.
